Prayer Until Something Happens - this week's prayer items...
  • “The Lord will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. On their hands they will bear you up, so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.” (Psalm 91:11-12) Powerful God, you often help us through danger or trouble in ways we don’t expect. Help us to see your hand in all the small miracles we experience every day.

  • “Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead.” (2 Timothy 2:8) God of history, God of eternity, forgive us when we forget that you are always faithful to the promises you make to your people, the way you have always and will always be in the lives of your people. Help us to trust you as you continue to guide and protect us. Amen.

  • “One who rules over people justly, ruling in the fear of God, is like the light of morning, like the sun rising.” (2 Samuel 23:3-4) We pray for all who govern and hold authority in the nations of the world, that there may be peace and justice on the earth. Amen.

  • Lord God, you said that even though we are in the world, we do not have to be of it. We choose your attitudes and mindsets today. Even in the midst off this world, we choose to respond with your peace and the mind of Christ.

  • “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach and admonish one another in all wisdom.” (Colossians 3:16) God of wisdom, help us to centre our communities of faith around your Word. Give our leaders discernment on how to guide us all into greater awareness of your presence. Give us all the faith to follow your wise leading. Amen.

  • “Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters.” (Hebrews 13:1) Heavenly Father, we pray for our church family. Let us not follow the ways of the world that lead to disunity, but rather lead us to the way of Jesus. May we learn to love one another as ourselves, and care for the least of those among us. Lord, thank you because you first loved us.

  • Lord we pray for One Worship on 26 May. We pray for a joyful time of coming together and fellowshipping with one another in the body of Christ. We ask for your blessing to all those involved in the organisation of it, for you to multiply their gifts and talents and their strength as well as for your protection.
