Prayer Until Something Happens - this week's prayer items...

  • Heavenly Father, in this Lenten season, we confess that we have fallen short of your intent for our lives. Open our eyes that we may see ourselves with clarify and truthfulness and discern what is not pleasing to you. Help us to grow in understanding and have the will to live as you would have us.

  • “The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 27:1). Almighty God, in a world of uncertainties, as Covid-19 spreads, you are the source of our hope. Strengthen us to continue our walk with you and to stand for what is right; encourage us to face any challenges that today may bring.

  • "Two things I ask of you, Lord; do not refuse me before I die: keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, ‘who is the Lord?’ or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonour the name of my God." (Proverbs 30:7-9). Amen.

  • Heavenly Father, we pray for our unstable and restless world. May compassion and justice enlighten our leaders, that they may protect what is good and worthy of honour. Give us the courage to promote peace and reconciliation and save our children for a safe and joyful future. Inspire us to serve you wherever the welfare of humanity may be improved or threatened. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

  • “For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 3:11) God of wisdom, help us to centre our communities of faith and obedience around your Word. Give our pastors, staff and leaders discernment on how to lead and guide us all into greater awareness of your presence. Give us all the faith and wisdom to follow you.

  • “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach and admonish one another in all wisdom.” (Colossians 3:16) Heavenly Father, we pray for our church family. Help us to not follow the ways of the world that lead to disunity. May we learn to love one another as ourselves, and care for the least of those among us.

  • Lord, we pray that you would call us, as a congregation, to go and serve you in the community. We thank you for technology that enables us to continue to "meet" and pray together during the week at the comfort of our homes. We pray that we would continue to remain in you and know your loving presence and grow in our knowledge of you and in character. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
