Prayer Until Something Happens - this week's prayer items...

  • Heavenly Father, in this Lenten season, help us to overcome the temptations and forces of the evil one, through walking with the passion of Jesus Christ. Help us to pray, to repent and to turn our eyes to you.

  • “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak." (Isaiah 40:28-29) Heavenly Father, COVID-19 has infected many and left more feeling fearful and hopeless. Father, we pray for all who are suffering, who’s lost loved ones, helpless, lonely and scared. Father, we ask that you would be their hope, strength and salvation. Father would you hear the cry of your children as we intercede for them on our knees in Jesus' name; Father, would you turn things around today.

  • "Two things I ask of you, Lord; do not refuse me before I die: keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, ‘who is the Lord?’ or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonour the name of my God." (Proverbs 30:7-9). Amen.

  • Heavenly Father, we pray for our unstable and restless world. May compassion and justice enlighten our leaders, that they may protect what is good and worthy of honour. Give us the courage to promote peace and reconciliation and save our children for a safe and joyful future. Inspire us to serve you wherever the welfare of humanity may be improved or threatened. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

  • “For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 3:11) God of wisdom, help us to centre our communities of faith and obedience around your Word. Give our pastors, staff and leaders discernment on how to lead and guide us all into greater awareness of your presence. Give us all the faith and wisdom to follow you.

  • “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach and admonish one another in all wisdom.” (Colossians 3:16) Heavenly Father, we pray for our church family. Help us to not follow the ways of the world that lead to disunity. May we learn to love one another as ourselves, and care for the least of those among us.

  • Lord, we pray that you would call us, as a congregation, to go and serve you in the community. We thank you for technology that enables us to continue to "meet" and pray together during the week at the comfort of our homes. We pray that we would continue to remain in you and know your loving presence and grow in our knowledge of you and in character. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
