“That was the best weekend ever, when is the next church retreat?”

Youth comment - All Church Retreat 2015

This Sunday, we welcome Rev. Dr. Jerry Root, CS Lewis expert and Evangelism professor of Wheaton College, to our pulpit. Jerry is also our retreat speaker for “Courageous Community” the following weekend (11-12 March). Join us for a dynamic weekend that will refresh and strengthen you as an individual and as a community. Come get away to God’s creation, build lasting memories as a family, as well as renewed hope in God. Join us for age appropriate camp games, dynamic Christ-centered worship, Biblical teaching and fun. Like you, I too have children who will need to miss a few Saturday morning activities, but who wants to miss out on “the best weekend ever?” Even if it is for the day, hope to see you there.

This Sunday, 6 Mar

Bible Talk - Genesis 1-11, Job: Life's Biggest Questions - Pastor Matthew

  • Light refreshments 12:15PM
  • Talk and Small Groups 12:30PM to 1:30PM
  • Upper Annex

Why, how, and when did God create the world?   Why are there two stories of creation in Genesis?  How does this creation story differ from other ancient stories?  Is it a scientific account of the universe's birth?  If God created everything, where did evil, pain, and suffering come from?  What do the fall and the flood teach us about human nature and God?  Why are boring genealogies, such as in Genesis 5, included in the Bible?  If Adam, Eve, and Cain were the first three human beings, whom did Cain marry in Nod?  Why did God allow Satan to harm righteous Job and destroy his family?  Pastor Matthew presents the insights of John H. Walton, Chuck Missler, and other theologians for the first 40 minutes, and then select two crucial questions to discuss in small groups for the remaining 20 minutes. Next talk: Sunday, 20 March
