Prayer Until Something Happens - this week's prayer items...

  • In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we declare that we will put on the full armour of God, so that we can take our stand against the devil’s schemes. We declare that we will stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around our waists, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with our feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which we can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. We also take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Lord God help us to stand firm in our faith, in our walk with you. We pray for this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  • We pray for all who govern and hold authority in the nations of the world, that there may be peace and justice on the earth.

  • Almighty God you are Adonai Roi. We lift up those amongst us who have fallen sick as well as those who are in need. Father, you know who they are and what they need, and you alone are their refuge and strength; by your grace we come to you on their behalf in the assurance of your power to overcome. We also give you thanks for all the prayers that you have answered this week.

  • Heavenly Father we place at your feet all the plans we make as a church and individually for this year. We ask that only those that will bring you glory, only those that are pleasing to you will proceed ahead, with other doors firmly closed. We ask that you draw us close so we remain in Christ the True Vine, and that we can be fruitful in our service of your Kingdom and we ask for your blessing for the work of our hands.

  • Heavenly Father we pray for our church family, for unity as body of Christ. We thank you and remember all your goodness and faithfulness as we celebrate the 175th anniversary of our church this year. We pray that this will be also be a blessed time of renewal of our commitment to you. All glory belongs to you.

  • We pray for those who are feeling weak in their faith as they go through the dark valley of their lives – in their workplaces, in their family lives, or fighting serious health conditions not knowing if there is a tomorrow. Lord Jesus, we ask that you walk ahead of them and alongside them, hold their hands in their time of darkness.
