U Matters - 16 July 2020

Scripture reminds us that we are to “rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn.” Romans 12:15 Lately, it feels like we have been doing a lot of mourning - there are many who have lost a loved one, some have received a poor medical report, others are unemployed and discouraged. These are uncertain and unpredictable times. I am grateful that we have the body of Christ, people who will pray with us, share our burdens and walk with us during challenging times. We are not alone. We have Him - who is for us and not against us and we have one another.

Despite the challenges there have also been many glimpses of God at work and we have much to rejoice over. Thinking through these past several weeks, I rejoice and give thanks to the Lord for His faithfulness. God has answered prayer, a baby has been born, Hemyar Saad has been nominated for the Spirit of Hong Kong award for making a difference in the city, three people have come to faith in Jesus, someone has been baptised, new studies have begun and new leaders have been affirmed. There are great things happening in us and around us. May we all see glimpses of God at work in our lives, in our church and in our city.

“Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.” Psalm 95:1-3

Blessings, Pastor Michele
