We have been journeying through Biblical Peacemaking through our sermon series, small groups and ReCharge. The 4G’s is an effective way to process conflict. First, consider how does conflict “Glorify God.” Second, consider taking responsibility, a searching moral inventory, for your part of the conflict – “Get the log out of your own eye.” Come this Sunday to discover the third G.
The Bible has plenty to say about how best to handle conflict and it would appear that there is some maintenance required when attempting to keep unity. Ephesians 4:3-6 states,
“making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling, 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all.
Maintaining unity is important in all our relationships and it requires effort. We are one with Christ and because of Christ we are one with each other. Join churches around the city this week as we celebrate our one-ness in Christ at the annual Church Unity Service. This year the service will be held at Kowloon Union Church, 4 Jordan Road Kowloon, on Tuesday Jan 21st at 7:30PM with Rev Mark Rogers as preacher.
I am thankful for the 60 men who made every effort to meet, unified by Christ, this past week at the Men’s dinner.
