A mother showed her young son a picture of Jesus. “Do you know who he is?” “Yes,” the little boy replied, “he goes to our church.”
What a great answer. But even more interesting to me is a picture of Jesus. We don’t have any paintings or pictures from 30AD that depict him.
For many who meet you, you are the only picture of Jesus they see. A Christian is a “little Christ,” a follower who should reflect the attributes of his Lord. Paul writes in Philippians 1: 27: "Live in such a way that you are a credit to the Message of Christ.” The messenger must mirror the message!
We are off to a great start to the new church year. My prayer is that we are off to a great start in letting people see Jesus in the way we live our lives.
