This week I read a sobering article, "Why I Don't Go to Church on Mother's Day." Pastor Michele was very helpful (as always) in addressing some of the concerns raised and I hope to interview her Sunday during the sermon. I mentioned Mother's Day at my men's group this week and two of the guys rushed out afterwards looking for cards--I am sure they would have remembered without my prompt.

Sunday we do want to thank God for our mothers and celebrate the chance we have to be a church family to those who may not have any other family. For as God says through the prophet in Isaiah 66:13: "As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you." Please join us as we celebrate God and his gift of family.
