U Matters

Sunday afternoon Holly and I were in a taxi that broke down on the motorway just short of Shatin. Tuesday evening a lost 40M bus crashed into the Peak Tram bridge over Kennedy, closing down tram for a day. We expect the vehicles we take to get us to our destination safely. We take transportation for granted. This week I learned we do so at our peril.

We tend to take churches for granted. But churches break down and get lost. Please pray for Union as we make plans for our future and as we keep transporting people on their exciting faith journey. Let's not take this wonderful church for granted as we grow together and grow in Christ.

Gratefully,
Greg

The James Legge Christmas Musical - Save the date: 14 December

This year our children will be performing a very special Christmas Musical: The James Legge Christmas Musical. Who, you may ask, was James Legge? He was a famous Christian missionary and scholar in the mid-1800s. He also became the first professor of Chinese at Oxford University. More importantly, Reverend James Legge was Union Church's first pastor and the founder of our church in 1844. In this year's Christmas Musical, we have the privilege of having Reverend Legge as our narrator to tell us the joyous message of the birth of Jesus and share with us some wonderful stories in the history of Union Church. We look forward to making this year's Christmas musical a truly historic and memorable performance for all families and friends of Union Church.

If you would like to get involved by sharing with us your creative talents in staging, costumes, music, graphics, choreography, marketing or just helping us inspire our performers, please contact Danielle Bradsher, Producer of the Musical, or Chris Yorks, Music Director. Thank you and may the JOY OF CHRISTMAS be with you all year round!
