U Matters

On Monday 27 March, the Joint Leadership (Deacons, CoM, Trustees) met and voted to authorise the BUFF committee to sign a contract for the redevelopment of Union. When we adjourned, we went into the sanctuary for an extended time of prayer. As one deacon put it, “A historical moment, followed by unity in prayer: a most beautiful moment." As our leaders pray, please also pray as we go through significant change.

Tuesday evening 28 March, the contract was signed with Henderson Development. We want to thank again the BUFF committee for the quality and quantity of their efforts.

Union will move this summer for the third time in its history, but this time we will come back to a sanctuary and facility that will bring glory to God in so many ways.

The “temporary” facility will be fantastic. We hope that as many of you as possible will join members of the Church leadership and pastoral staff to visit and pray for the temporary church facilities at Sunlight Tower in Wan Chai. This week will be the last chance to see the existing space before renovation works begin. We will travel as a church to cover the location in prayer on Sunday (2 April) 1:00PM. A bus will leave from the front of the church after the service on a first come first serve basis. All congregants are welcome to join us as we go through room by room and pray over what will be our church home during the impending church reconstruction of 22A Kennedy Road.

The Sunlight Tower address for those traveling separately is 18/F Sunlight Tower, 248 Queen's Rd East, Wan Chai.
