U Matters

I have been passed by porcupines on Bowen Road.  They waddle by slowly which doesn't say much for my walking speed.

The Apostle Paul compares the Christian life to running a race.  In Philippians 3:13-14 he writes: "Straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called."

Brenna and a group of Union members are training for a marathon in Cambodia.  Pastor Matthew is a runner so he has agreed to preach on this passage.

Are you training and straining as you run the spiritual race?  Or are you poking around and being passed by the porcupines?

Pastor Greg

Thank You

Dear Union Family,

Gratefully,
Greg

'The Twin Peaks- Romans and Hebrews'
Theologians such as Augustine, Luther, Calvin, Barth, and Stott regard Romans as the clearest explanation of the Gospel, the Everest of Paul's writings, and the tinder of reformation.  Hebrews is an appeal to endure.  How?  Who wrote the anonymous, mysterious letter 'to the Hebrews'?  Does Romans 9 justify predestination?  Join us, ask questions, and seek Christ in these epic epistles.

For this year's Christmas Musical, our children will have fun sharing the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ, through a galactic adventure. The message of our Christmas Musical will be of “Hope”, which is in Christ Jesus. "For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life,” John 3:16.  It will be meaningful, family orientated and filled with lots of fun scenes for all to enjoy. We invite all children from ages 3-10 years old to join us and be a part of this magical time of the year. Let us share the great news of Jesus’s birth for all to hear.

We will start rehearsing for the Christmas Musical this Sunday, 6 November continuing to 10 December. During this period of time please bring your children directly to the Lower Annex.

If you would like to get involved by sharing with us your talents and time in costume making/sourcing, as group leaders, cast prompters, setting up the stage, or just helping us support and cheer for our children, please contact Children.
