U Matters

Brenna Dykman joined Union’s staff in August 2013 and she leaves us at the end of this month. We will soon be saying, “We knew her when.” As her colleague, I watched her take a struggling youth program and with the help of her able volunteers, build it into the premiere program in HK. Her gifts of organisation, encouragement, teaching, and wisdom will be missed. (The fact that she saved me from being arrested several years ago—well let’s not go there…) Anyway, “Well done good and faithful servant.” Brenna leaves us to pursue additional education as she begins the process of ordination. Some school and then church is going to be in for a major blessing.

Please attend the special reception for her after the 11:00AM service. She will be at all services Sunday, preaching at 5:00PM as she completes the book of Amos.

Pastor Greg

P.S. Here is a farewell written by Brenna:

How do you say thank you to a remarkable group of faithful people of God who have meant so much to you? Thank you for taking a chance on me. Thank you for making me a part of your community, for letting me share Christ and His love with you and for doing the same to me. For the meals we shared, for the laughs, for the times in prayer and worship, for championing, encouraging, and mentoring me.  I am blessed by each of you and I give thanks to God for the season I have had at Union Church.

Thank you,
Blessings and peace,
Brenna
