U Matters

This week I have had two conversations with Union members I didn’t know very well. I left each encounter wondering why I have waited so long to get to know such fascinating people. In both cases there was a combination of humility and wisdom I found most winsome. It was difficult to get them to talk about themselves because they were so interested in learning about me.

Paul writes in Philippians 2: "Be deep-spirited friends... Put yourself aside and help others get ahead…Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.”

Not once but twice I met with people who are putting those verses into practice. I am going to learn about humility and wisdom by getting to know them more. Union is full of individuals and groups where you can find deep-spirited friends. My prayer is that you find one.
