U Matters

Thank you for filling out or for being about to fill out the Union survey. It is astounding that such diverse congregation can hold together. It has to be Jesus. Who else could call and assemble a family of faith from 9 days to 99 years old, from a myriad of cultures, to worship and enjoy God and each other?

Pastor Greg

Stewardship

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth… But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:19-21)

Sir Moses Montefiore, the great financier, was a devout Jew who devoted his last 60 years to philanthropy. When asked how much he was worth, he named a figure. But his questioner persisted: “That can’t be right. You must be worth many times that amount.” Montefiore replied: “You didn’t ask me how much I own. You asked me how much I’m worth. I calculated the amount I have given to charity this year and that is the figure I gave you. You see, we are worth what we are willing to share with others.”

How would our own "net worth" look, if we calculated it according to this method?
