U Matters

In many respects, I feel we have been riding the Easter-tide. Over Easter there were three mission trips (Mongolia and two to the Philippines) which engaged 36 people. We baptized 10 people. This week we hosted 140 ladies for Union Church's first annual ladies dinner, which included great opportunities for connection. Additionally, Alpha had a very full house and successful relaunch.

But yet there are great things still to come! We have some amazing speakers lined up. This Sunday, Dr Gary Hoag from the Global Generosity Network will speak in the morning. Next week Dr David Miller will give a Faith and Work seminar and will be speaking at the 5PM. And a few weeks later, Canon Andrew White will be speaking Sunday 15 May at the 5PM service. You are not going to want to miss a Sunday and you will want to bring a friend.

Pastor Michele

Please note, we will have communion at 5PM this Sunday.

This Week

Guest Speaker, Rev. Dr. Gary Hoag will speak at 9:30AM & 11AM service this Sunday.

Bible Series Talk - 'The Craziest Bible Stories Ever' - Pastor Matthew

  • This Sunday, 24 Apr
  • Light refreshments 12:15PM
  • Talk and Small Groups 12:30PM to 1:30PM

Joshua, Judges, Ruth
Joshua's butchery of cruel and faithless Canaanite civilisations, retaliation or assimilation during the next twelve generations, the emergence of unlikely Israelite heroines and heroes such as Samson, Jephthah, and Deborah, and an unlikely cross-cultural love story between enemies in the book of Ruth make these books splendid material for anyone with an interest in crime, love, war, betrayal, trust in God, revenge, or leadership.

Join us in “READ THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR”

It’s never too late to start! We have 107 people at Union Church who have committed to read the whole Bible this year. We would like YOU to join us too! It only takes 15 minutes a day, and it will give you a whole new perspective to your day. The GOOD NEWS is that we have just finished the “boring” books of the Old Testament, so if you join now you can start with all the great stories about David. Find out more (and get your One Year Bible) at the Table on the Green after Sunday’sservice. Sign up with Chris Yorks or Danielle Bradsher.

Lantau Youth Development Program - "Youth-up2" Mentorship program 2016-2018:

Yay Neighbours! "Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth" -1 John 3:18
We are partnering with a local church in Tung Chung to have regular outreaches in Tung Chung to reach out to the ethnic minorities in the neighbourhood. This will not be a one-off event or visit, rather we hope to build friendships with our neighbours so that we can share the love of Christ with them through our actions. For more information, please contact Crystal at Crystal Lo.
