U Matters

On Sunday, I am inducting a former colleague and friend as pastor of a church in Kowloon. It has been exciting to see how God has used him over the years. As I was preparing, I was once again reminded of the many possible distractions which can derail our faith. Paul reminds us to "run with perseverance the race marked out for us." Hebrews 12:1 It is vital that we know what we believe, that we are equipped and that we "be on guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong." 1 Corinthians 16:13

This weekend, Dr. William Lane Craig is research professor of Philosophy at Talbot School of Theology, for the Reasonable Faith Conference. He has authored over 30 books and over 100 journal articles in professional journals of philosophy and theology. This will be an engaging weekend of Christian apologetics. If you are looking for a spiritual refresher to help you and your race, consider this option

Judges: The Bible's Best Soap Opera

The Book of Judges, if reproduced as a TV show, would be too offensive and probably censored. Deborah, Gideon, Samson, Barak, Jephthah, and left-handed Ehud were called 'judges,' but 'fighters' is more fitting.  What can their mad lives teach us about God's rescue when we rebel?  Do we see God best in the worst of times? If so, no other book better reveals God's mercy and justice.
