U Matters

Tomorrow my daughter Lindsey gets married. I am feeling very much like Steve Martin in “Father of the Bride.” Holly and I (especially Holly) have been preparing for this big day and now it is almost here. It is time for celebration and a new beginning. Please pray that I don’t cry and blubber when I walk her down the aisle. The love for and the pride I have in her knows no bounds. For just a moment I caught a glimpse of how God the Father might have felt as he sent his Son into the adventure that saved us.

Guest Speaker at 9:30AM & 11AM Service - Stephen Howard LVO, after serving as CEO for two major British companies, became head of the Princes' Trust Business in the Community. The Queen, in this year's Birthday Honours List, awarded him the LVO for his support of Prince Charles.

Steve has been a mentor to Christian businessmen, politicians, and leaders and will be sharing "Lessons in Leadership" as part of the Sunday sermon at 9:30AM and 11:00AM. Let's welcome and learn from this amazing man.

Cookies & Carols on the Green Sunday 5:00PM   Bring along family and friends to our 5pm service as we are led by a festive brass quartet and carolers for a cafe style service! Enjoy your favourite carols, cookies, mulled cider, and a special activity during the worship service!  Fun and Christmas joy for all!

MAKE YOUR 2016 RESOLUTION: Read the Whole Bible in One Year!
Join other committed members of Union Church. Sign up this Sun. 
Have you ever read the whole Bible? Do you think you just don’t have the time to do this? Make 2016 the year that you read the whole Bible. It will only take you 15 minutes a day. Each day’s reading includes portions from the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs. We will help you, encourage you and have a quarterly celebration to share our progress. Our goal is to have 100 members of Union Church committed to doing this together. This is also a great program for children, who need to read 15 minutes before bedtime. We have found the best One Year Bible for Children to create this habit early in their lives. Sign up at the “Read the Whole Bible in One Year Commitment” table on the Green after services. Oasis

Wed, 23 Dec, 8:00PM (Refreshments at 7:30PM)

Join us for Christmas refreshments and small groups. We will read the Christmas story together from Luke's Gospel (if you would like to be a reader, please let me know). Each small group, in addition to discussing the Christmas story, will act out a portion of the Christmas story.

Youth

Please remember that Youth is on break starting this Fri,18 Dec. Youth will start again Fri, 8 Jan.  

Both Youth Sunday School classes will meet in the Youth room this Sunday, 9:30 to 10:30AM as we end a great half of the first year with a festive Christmas Party!

Kingdom Kids

HOLF Visit, Sat 19 Dec from 1PM to 5PM  Join us this Saturday as we bring our mini Christmas Musical to the HOLF. A bus has been arranged to transport those wishing to join, therefore we would appreciate it if you could be at Union Church before 1PM to collect your child's costume. We aim to be back at Union Church by 5PM. Please contact us at  for more details. Special thanks to the Ragless family for taking the lead on this particular outreach. 

Sunday School Christmas Party, Sun 20 Dec We are having a mini Christmas Party this Sun. Children ages 3 to 10 years old are all invited to join us at the Lower Annex. There will be games, crafts and snacks. We welcome donation of snacks, sweets, fruit and/or baked goods that are nut free. Please bring your children and your food contribution directly to the Lower Annex.  

Sunday School Classes On Break  There will be no Sunday School Classes on 27 Dec and 3 Jan. Instead, we will be showing Veggie Tales Movies. Sunday School Lessons will resume again on 10 Jan 2016. 

Sunday School Teachers New Year's Gathering & Workshop, Saturday, 9 Jan 2016 We invite all of our current Sunday School Teachers and those who wish to join the team for a New Year’s gathering and teacher’s workshop on Sat, 9 Jan 2016 from 10AM to 2PM. There will be a time of worship and prayer, and a training session and followed by an Indonesian home made lunch. Local Outreach Opportunities - Mark Your Calendar

  • This Sat 19 Dec, 1:00-4:00PM families will gather to Decorate Cookies for YWAM Sons and Daughters and make cards of encouragement to hand out. 
  • We are partnering with a local Tung Chung church for a series of Christmas outreach opportunities in Tung Chung, Tai O and Ngong Ping on 20, 23 & 24 Dec. Please contact Eric Fungor Lee-Ann by the end of Nov for more details.
  • Christmas Eve  Please note that there will be a special offering collected for those in need. Details will be given on Christmas Eve.

Small Group and Study

STEWARDSHIP - "Navigation Your Finances God's Way" - Come join our 9 weeks course and learn to become more content in making an eternal difference with possessions. You will learn about God's role in our finances and the Biblical principles we should apply in our lives. Starting on 11 Jan, 2016 Monday nights 7PM - 9PM. Bring you own dinner. Please sign up at .
