U Matters

Sunday school and youth group attendance continue to reach all-time highs. We are so grateful for Jacklien Lee and her teachers work with our children, and Brenna and her amazing youth team.
There is so much life and vitality on Sunday morning and Friday night. We do ask parents to encourage their children not to kick footballs, run over older people, climb fences or otherwise endanger themselves and others. This is not a joke, all of the above happen on a regular basis. We want Union to be a welcoming, fun and SAFE place to meet and grow in our relationship with Jesus and each other. Thanks for your help.

Gratefully,
Greg

Annual General Meeting

Union’s Annual General Meeting will be held at 7:00PM on Sat, 21 March. Voting members will vote for church officers and all members are asked to be present if possible. Non-members are welcome to attend as observers.

The annual report, biographical notes on COM and Deacon nominees and church financials are now available in the Foyer.

There is “Fellowship Feast” at 6:00PM. Please join us for this event as we celebrate together, and give glory to God. Non-members are welcome to attend. Please bring a plate of eats to share – Appetizers, Dinner or Dessert (enough for 20 people). Sign up at Table on the Green or contact Brenna to confirm your dish!

Oasis

Wed, 18 Mar, 8:00PM (Refreshments at 7:30PM)

The CEO, the Maasai, and the Geographer, Alex Fong, Emmanuel Mankura, and Anthony; Willoughby will speak on ‘Happiness, Hope, and Leading Your Territory.’ The panel will reflect on ideas such as: 1) elders/leaders provide hope, 2) how do you keep your identity when your territory/life changes, and 3) can I be a happy person though ‘chained’ to my desk?

Emmanuel Mankura is a Maasai warrior and elder, moving from caring for goats as a boy to caring for his community. Anthony Willoughby is a geographer: he crossed Siberia at age 22 and has since explored the rugged places of New Guinea, Kenya, China, etc. Alex Fong served as CEO of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce and currently researches on how happiness at work can become a strategic domain for business.
