U Matters

This Sunday we welcome Dr. Ray Bakke, the father of the whole field of urban ministry.  In fact, there is the Ray Bakke Centre for Urban Transformation in HK.  “In the City, for the City” is the motto of the Centre and sums up the remarkable ministry of this man of God. He will be preaching at 9:45AM and 11:15AM.

I will continue our series on the Ten Commandments, dealing with #7, “Do Not Commit Adultery,” at the 8:45AM service.

A former member of Union, Andy Filarado, is Head of Monetary Policy at the Bank for International Settlements. He knows most of the world’s the central bankers, taught at the University of Chicago, worked at the Federal Reserve. He will be speaking Tuesday night at 7:30PM on “Faith and Economics: Reflections of a Global Central Banker.” I urge you to invite your financial friends to attend this event.

Alas, the BIS will not let us record this event but he will answer any question that you ask.  What an opportunity to learn from a top economist/banker and to let your non-church friends learn about their field from a very committed Christian.

Speaking of unchurched friends, the Alpha Introductory Dinner is this Wednesday, 11 October at 7:30PM.

For those of you on holiday and school breaks, God bless you and bring you back to us refreshed!

Gratefully
Pastor Greg
