U Matters

This week I was visited by the editors of the Hong Kong Christian Council's monthly magazine. They are doing an article on the history of Union Church. But when they left they said that they would like to change the focus to the current vitality of the church. This old church still has some life in her. As we look at an exciting present and an even more exciting future, we know that the Lord will lead if we listen. Thanks for being part of an amazing adventure.
Dr. Ray Bakke is the senior statesman of Urban church ministry. We are privileged to have him preach at the 9:30 and 11:00 services.

Vacation Bible School Summer Sunday School just got weird! Kingdom Kids invite all children from 3 to 9 years old to "WEIRD ANIMALS: Where Jesus' Love is One-of-a-Kind". For five Sundays in the summer JULY, 27 JULY, 3 AUG, 10 AUG, 17 AUG) at 9:30AM and 11:00AM, we will have songs, skits, bible story-telling, games, snacks and science experiments. Registration is required and volunteers from 10 years old and above are needed! For more information contact children@unionchurchhk.org.

Youth End of the Year Party! 13 June All youth are invited to come from 6:30 to 9:00PM for games, fellowship, ice Cream, pizza and more! This is a great Friday to bring a friend to youth!
Fall Mission Trip to the Philippines: Youth and their families (8 years+) are invited to join us as we spend 4 days working with Kids International Ministry in Tacloban. Cost $5,000 HKD per person. Missions

Youth and Missions have created an exciting opportunity to serve in Tacloban, Philippines, epicentre of last years devastating Typhoon Yolanda, with Kids International Ministry.
Participation is open to youth and their families (aged 8 years and up).
Cost: HK$5,000 pp
To hold your spot we need a copy of your passport and a HK$1,000 Non-Refundable deposit. BEFORE 20 Jun 2014. (Registration after that date is subject to price increase due to increase of flights.)

Weekly Ministries

New Course: A Life Worth Living
When: 19 June for 9 consecutive Thursdays
Time: 7:30PM to 9:00PM (no food is provided)
What: In the course, the apostle Paul takes us through the book of Philippians and shows us clear and powerful answers to many questions and needs in our life. The format is similar to an Alpha course in that we will start with a Nicky Gumble video followed by a group discussion and sharing the ideas and concepts conveyed in the video.
