U Matters

Praise God for the Union Choir and for Forrest Morr. When we enjoy the Christmas cantata, we have no idea how much extra work our volunteer choir and their director have put in to make this a worship service to remember. To them and all the other heroic Union volunteers, I thank God. In this season of sharing, it is a joy to watch people good at what they do share their gifts for God's glory.

The Silence and the Sound - 9:30AM & 11:00AM services The Silence and the Sound is a musical service of illumination. With scripture, narration and carols, this compelling cantata tells the story of Christ’s birth. Celebrate the light of Christ this holiday season with the Union Church choir. There will be “Live” sermons and communion in 8:30AM, U-Cafe & 5:00PM services.

MAKE YOUR 2016 RESOLUTION: Read the Whole Bible in One Year!
Join other committed members of Union Church. Sign up this Sun, 06 Dec. 
Have you ever read the whole Bible? Do you think you just don’t have the time to do this? Make 2016 the year that you read the whole Bible. It will only take you 15 minutes a day. Each day’s reading includes portions from the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs. We will help you, encourage you and have a quarterly celebration to share our progress. Our goal is to have 100 members of Union Church committed to doing this together. This is also a great program for children, who need to read 15 minutes before bedtime. We have found the best One Year Bible for Children to create this habit early in their lives. Sign up at the “Read the Whole Bible in One Year Commitment” table on the Green after services. Opportunities at Union

Music Makers, Last Week 9 Dec  Our Music Director, Chris Yorks, will be teaching all interested children how to sing. This is also a great opportunity for your child to get extra practice for the Christmas Musical. Please contact   to register your child.   

THE "CHRISTMAS UNPLUGGED" CHILDREN'S MUSICAL - Save the Date: 13 Dec
For this year's Christmas Musical, our children will be sharing the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ, through their eyes. The main focus of our Christmas Musical will be emphasizing the importance of “Family Time”. It will be meaningful, family oriented and filled with lots of fun scenes for all to enjoy. All children from ages 3-10 years old are invited to join us and be a part of this magical time of the year. 

We are still in need of more Dads and/or strong gentleman to help us with the stage set up at both the Dress Rehearsal and on the Performance Day itself. Please contact us at  if you could help.

Oasis

Wed, 9 Dec, 8:00PM (Refreshments at 7:30PM)

Pastor Matthew will speak on the meaning of Christmas and focus on the virgin birth.  We will form discussion groups in the second half. Oasis will welcome members of several Muslim communities who have asked to join, dialogue with, and learn about Christmas. Islam and Christianity share a belief in Mary's virgin birth: all are welcome to participate in this interfaith conversation and celebration of the Messiah.

Youth Christmas Party - Mark you calendar - 11 Dec and we celebrate the season ‘Youth’ style. Come one, come all for a evening of fun!

Christmas Break Please note that the Youth Group will be going on Christmas Break and will not meet on 18 & 25 Dec, & 1 Jan! We will see you in the New Year!

Kingdom Kids

Christmas Cards Family Project for St Barnabas & HOLF 
We hope to present around 120 Christmas cards as part of our Children's Christmas outreach to the underprivileged elderly and homeless of HK under the care of St.Barnabas and the residents of HOLF. We invite families to create their very own Christmas cards and drop them off at the collection box by the Kingdom Kids Table on or before Sun, 13 Dec. Preferably Bible verses and Christmas greetings & drawings, either in English or Chinese, will be greatly appreciated. We welcome families that wants to do more than one card. 

Christmas Musical First Dress Rehearsal, Sun 6 Dec from 12:30PM to 3:00PM 
This Sunday, after the 11AM service, we will have our First Dress Rehearsal. There'll be a pizza lunch served at the Lower Annex starting from 12:00PM for all the children and volunteers involved.  

Costumes Pick Up, Sun, 6 Dec
For those who have not collected their children's Christmas Musical Costumes, this Sunday will be the last Sunday to pick up their costumes.

Local Outreach Opportunities - Mark Your Calendar
  • Sat 19 Dec, 1:00-4:00PM families will gather to Decorate Cookies for YWAM Sons and Daughters and make cards of encouragement to hand out. 
  • We are partnering with a local Tung Chung church for a series of Christmas outreach opportunities in Tung Chung, Tai O and Ngong Ping on 20, 23 & 24 Dec. Please contact Eric Fung or Lee-Ann by the end of Nov for more details.

STEWARDSHIP - "Navigation Your Finances God's Way" - Come join our 9 weeks course and learn to become more content in making an eternal difference with possessions.
