U Matters

This Sunday, after the 11AM service, could be one of the most important lunches in Union's history.  Already almost 50 people have indicated that they will attend Amnesty Sunday Membership Lunch. If you are a regular attender but not a member, we urge you to join us and to join Union! The Deacons will be there, there will be a simple presentation, and you will have a chance sign up. You will then be voted on by the Deacons and you will be publicly received into membership on 11 May(or a subsequent Sunday for those who can't make the 11th).

The momentum of so many new members at the very time we are looking at expansion of facilities and ministries is thrilling. God has some great plans for us as we follow Jesus together. Please take this unusual opportunity to join us!

Annual General Meeting Minutes

The minutes of the church's AGM held on 16 March 2014 is now available on the church notice board. If you have any comments, please write to

Amnesty Membership Lunch, 6 April, After 11AM Service, Fellowship Hall

What is Amnesty Membership Lunch? Many of you have been attending Union Church for years, you serve, you give financially and are in community. You may think if your name is in the directory, you are a member. Some just haven't made the time to formalize a commitment to Union Church. Then this lunch is for you.

What Amnesty Membership Lunch is NOT? It has nothing to do with the "United Nations" but rather a "Catchy" term to invite non-members to become members.

What if I can't make the lunch? There will continue to be opportunities to become member throughout the year.

How? Please RSVP Pastor Michele for lunch on or before 6 April.

Note: Membership gives you voting rights on congregational issues, which according to Union Church constitution will take effect 6 months after membership. Hope you can join us.

Lenten Reflection Series - Suffering

How can we suffer with hope? How can we look back without suffering again? Should we forgive and forget? Is it even possible? Influenced by the works of Miroslav Volf, Professor and Director of Yale Center for Faith and Culture who visited us recently, our Youth Director Brenna Dykman will lead us in a talk and discussion, "Suffering: The Memory and The Hope," on 8 April (Tuesday) at the Fellowship Hall, 7:00pm to 8:30pm, light dinner provided. For registration and more information please contact us at   or +2101 0414.

Oasis

Oasis, 9 April, 8:00pm

Oasis will celebrate a Messianic Passover Seder meal at 8:00pm. The Passover meal commemorates the liberation of the Israelites from Egypt; Jesus celebrated Passover with his disciples before his crucifixion; we will celebrate the Passover tradition to prepare for Easter Holy Week and the deliverance Christ accomplished for us.

RSVP by text to Pastor Matthew +852 9249-4797. There is a suggested donation of $50.

Youth

Want to sponsor a back pack? The youth who are going to Cambodia in April are wanting to bless the kids at the orphanage with new backpacks full of school supplies! The last time the kids received new backpacks they were so excited they did not take them off for days and even slept with them on. We are wanting to fill and bring down 40 full bags. Each bag costs $250 to fill. If you would like to sponsor a bag or two please e-mail Brenna at
