BLESS THE CITY 2026

The entire church and our Mid-Levels neighbours are invited to gather on Saturday, 12 September to Bless the City of Hong Kong in practical ways. We are collaborating with our ministry partners to offer 8 exciting outreach activities for you to take part in!

We will start at Union Church at 9:15am for a brief time of worship, then go out in teams to do various acts of service, bless others and be blessed! Join us - bring your friends and family members as most activities are suitable for all ages. 

Below please find the Descriptions for each Outreach activity! Sign up form can be found at the bottom of this page!

1. Bring Mid-Autumn Festive Joy to Yau Ma Tei with Praxis （油踐入心）

 We are gathering to pack 300 gift bags to bring festive joy and care items for the homeless and underprivileged families in Yau Ma Tei.  Every hand counts in making our vulnerable neighbors feel remembered and valued during this special season of reunion.

• What: Assemble gift bags with festive treats and essentials. Make greeting cards of love and encouragement
• When: 10:30-12:30
• Where: Fellowship Hall @ Union Church

• Follow up: On September 13 (Sunday), we will be distributing the kindness bags to the homeless and underprivileged families in Yau Ma Tei. We would like to recruit 5 volunteers to go on this outreach as well.

2. Bring Joy to the Elderly at St. Barnabas!

We are calling for volunteers to join us for a morning of fellowship, and community service with the elderly at St. Barnabas. Many of the elderly truly look forward to these moments of companionship. Your presence, a big smile, and a willingness to listen can completely brighten up their week. It is a wonderful opportunity to share the love of Christ with those in need.

• What: Hymns, games, Bible message. Lunch will be served for the elderly.

• Where: Barnabas Society and Home (Bus will leave from Union Church at 10:15am)

3. Share Jesus’ Love at ICM Kids’ Club

 We are looking for energetic volunteers to join us at the Kids' Club Bible program! This is a wonderful opportunity to pour the love of Christ into the lives of these precious Nepalese children, many come from Hindu background.  The Kids’ Club program is action-packed and an absolute blast for everyone!

• Where: Inner City Ministries, Jordan (Bus will leave from Union Church at 10:00am)

4. Serve with Sons & Daughters to Care for Victims of Sexual Exploitation

We are looking for volunteers to join us at the S&D outreach and prayer walk.  Sons and Daughters (S&D) helps those who are trapped in sexual exploitation reclaim lives with the love of Christ, adoption into God’s family, and freedom from oppression. Through weekly outreach in red-light districts, training and counseling services at the drop-in center, S&D team members build relationships with exploited persons and share a crucial message: “there is a place for you - safe, supported, and free.”

 5. Wan Chai Prayer Walk for Community Transformation

Join Pastor Michele on the prayer walk as we venture out into the heart of the Wan Chai district. The transforming power of prayers can break spiritual strongholds, awaken hearts to God’s truth, and reshape neighborhoods in the light of the Gospel. This is a great opportunity to learn about the Wan Chai community, and actively intercede for the unique needs of this neighborhood.

6. Beach Cleanup for the Love of God’s Creation with Here In Nature

Caring for the earth is an act of worship and a way to honor the Creator by protecting His handiwork. Join us as an environmentalist from Here in Nature shares about Hong Kong’s unique environmental challenges, followed by a hands-on beach cleanup. To make a lasting scientific impact, the trash we collect will be weighed, classified, and recorded, contributing directly to an ongoing environmental big-data research project running since 2021. Come protect our coastlines and turn faith into action!

7. Step Out to Love and Serve Muslim Communities in Yuen Long

Join us as we visit missionary Andrew Ahmed and his ministry, Living Well Centre, which faithfully serves Muslim communities in Yuen Long—including asylum seekers, refugees, and underprivileged families. During this outreach, we will meet the people being served, hear their stories, pray for them, and distribute essential supplies.

8. Bringing Light and Joy to Tsim Sha Tsui’s Seniors

Partner with us for a meaningful time of ministry at Chung King Ministries, an organization dedicated to supporting Tsim Sha Tsui’s homeless and elderly community. Together, we will host a special gathering featuring Bible message, prayers, and games. Come ready to connect, listen, and show Christ's love in a practical way.
