Mr. Michael Birley on behalf of Men's Fellowship invites you to the next MF Lunch (14 February 2020)

Dear Friends,

Please join us for our Men’s Fellowship Luncheon on Friday, 14 February, 2020 at The Hong Kong Club with our special guest speaker, Rev. Ivan Chung.  The title of his Talk is “Finishing the Race Jesus’ Way”. 

Ivan is currently the Residential Life & Education Manager at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.  Previously he served as the Director of International Student Services and teaching cross-cultural missions, intercultural communication, ethnic relations, urban theology, and immigrant outreach at Biola University in California. 

In particular, he is deeply committed to the transformation of leaders, learners, staff and workers - encouraging growth through community. His passions include cross-cultural missions, servant-leadership, discipleship, global diversity, social justice, urban transformation, and the internationalization of education and theology. 

Ivan grew up traveling to Hong Kong and China as his father pioneered the Chinese Studies Program at Wheaton College Graduate School. In addition to serving with the Lausanne Congress as a delegate and leader in Cape Town, South Africa; and with the North American Younger Leaders Steering Committee he also planted an NGO 10 years ago in post-genocide east Africa—a work in which he remains active.

His wife, Tina, is a qualified psychiatric social worker whose passions include the needs of children with special needs.  Together they raise a special-needs son, Mattias, age 7; they lost their second son (Izaiah) - also special needs - in March, 2018 at the age of near 8 months.  In the midst of this grief and loss, Ivan seeks to embody Christ in all walks of life, and in every culture.

The cost of the luncheon is HK$350, which will be collected at the HKC.  We continue to welcome pastors and those in between jobs to attend the Luncheon as our guests.  Please note that registration is a commitment to attend.  No shows will be billed as we must pay the Hong Kong Club based on bookings, not actual attendance.
