Growing up as a third-culture kid in Hong Kong, these verses from Jeremiah have grown in meaning to me over the years. In hindsight, God’s gracious guidance is crystal clear, from calling me to faith in elementary school, to meeting Pastor Michele at a former church where I got baptized, to preserving my faith throughout my liberal arts college days, to anchoring my involvement with Bible Study Fellowship International (BSF) ever since my early professional career, and to literally moving with His ministries across continents.
I joined Union Church in 2018 at relatives’ behest, having just repatriated with work that also took me on a very meaningful stint with BSF in the US. By God’s grace, I was called to help out with musical worship at UCafé and that paved the way to the wider worship community at church.
Professionally, I am involved in real estate, interior fit-outs, and facilities management; and it’s with gratitude and humbleness that I have served the church’s management in this regard, including the Transition Committee and Property Committee. There’s just so much excitement – and work! – that God has in store for us as we grow at the new 22A!
His plans are always good and can be trusted. By His design, I teach at a BSF class catering to young adults that He has placed just a stone’s throw away from Union’s former, temporary location in Wan Chai. That leaves me with just enough time to dote on tennis and volleyball, plus ad hoc undertakings to help the needy.
