Born in Singapore, I came to know Christ when I entered junior college, trying to cope with studies and exams. After being in Australia for my university days and working in Shanghai and Singapore, I found myself relocating to Hong Kong in early 2016. This journey to Hong Kong was God-led, despite praying for a sabbatical, asking God to send me anywhere (in my heart I wanted to go Cambodia and spend time with kids), God sent me to Hong Kong with my current company for work. Little did I know that it would be with Union Church that I would go on a missions trip to FCOP Cambodia in Oct 2016! During this trip, I met Rachel Wirth and Rachel Ye whom we all saw the need for a small group with working ladies in mind. God planted this seed and Rachel Wirth started a small group on Tues evenings for professional ladies and our small group has evolved since, from physical meeting in Hong Kong to zooming from multiple locations! God works in amazing ways. He has blessed me in more ways I can imagine. I still have my job even though the industry went through several rounds of retrenchment. I did not need to leave my job but got to serve kids through the Mongolian mission trip with Flourishing Future in summer 2017 and more recently, helping Jacklien out in Sunday school (thanks to Lindy who recruited me during the Ladies Retreat in Hoi An). Witnessing all the activities in our new church building and the number of outreach events the staff and volunteers have undertaken has filled me with a sense of blessing and gratitude; I feel privileged to be a member of Union Church, serving alongside other members, all for the glory of Christ and His kingdom. I had often wondered why I am in Hong Kong. God showed me that there are many people hurting here and there are groups being marginalised despite the city being rich; they need to know Him. By His grace, I remain committed to serve in this church, who is the body of Christ.
