U Matters

One of the ministries at Union Church that I have enjoyed being a part of over the years is the Families in Need (FIN) team. This team consists of Charles Schmitt, Isabel Morrison, Brian Woo and myself, and we have the privilege to meet with people who are in need. These needs may be one off, they may be longer term needs, they may be financial, they may be practical, they may be spiritual. We regularly help individuals, families, children and young adults. Through your generous donations we have been and are able to help financially, as well as, meet specific needs like appliances, internships, tutoring, education, surgeries and the list goes on. This ministry is not a part of our budget and solely relies on the donations of Union Church members. If you would like to give to this ministry we welcome you.

Also, we would like to lift up a brother to you who we have been supporting financially and otherwise for a number of years.  He now has an opportunity to return to his home country, Sri Lanka, because he no longer sees the political threat he was facing as a danger.  Also, his mother in Sri Lanka requires cataract surgery, and he is requesting funds for this.  Several churches in Hong Kong are contributing to a fund to help finance his return and his mother’s eye surgery, and Union has the opportunity to join in this.  If you feel called to help, please contact a member of the FIN team—Brian Woo, Isabel Morrison, Charles Schmitt and Pastor Michele—and we can give you the details.  Thank you for prayerfully considering this opportunity.

If you would like to give to the general FIN fund or to the relocation and surgery request please indicate on an envelope accordingly.  Luke wrote, "...we must support the weak, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus, for he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” Acts 20:35.

Thank you for your continued support - Pastor Michele and the FIN team

Please join us in this opportunity to lift ourselves, our city and our world before the Lord.  7:30-8:30PM.
