U MATTERS

It was a privilege and joy to visit 22A Kennedy Road building site today with members from the BUFF team. We are grateful for the endless hours, days, weeks, months and years our team has put into making the new church building a reality. It is really coming together! Walking through the site today, we witnessed the transformation of what will become. What an inspiration!

I am excited about this transformation - excited about the ministries, the outreaches, the ways we can use our facility every day of the week to glorify God in the community. We are the Missional Church - the light on the hill and many years ago God placed us at this address for a reason. We have 168 hours in a week to make an impact.

Alan Roxburgh wrote, “The parish does not exist to draw people into the Church but is the means by which the message of the Church radiates outwards to seek to touch as many aspects of the parish as possible. In other words, the idea of the parish is not an inward movement that isolates people from the world but an outward movement that acts as the yeast that transforms the whole.” The Place of the Parish, page 23.

In the words of Jesus, “You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid. No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16

Let’s continue to be the yeast and the light to a city in need.

Thankful, Pastor Michele
