Union Church has been my spiritual home for nearly 30 years since I first came to faith in our Lord Jesus.
I was first introduced to God through a good friend of my father when I was still at university in the UK. However, it was not until after I returned to Hong Kong in the mid-90’s, having witnessed how my brother became a believer from his atheist past and seeing his life change, that I came to Christ in 1996. I came to Union to attend an Alpha Course and have been worshiping at Union Church ever since.
Being involved in a Union small group has really helped to deepen my faith. During the 15 years that I was working in the finance industry, I joined a lunch time ladies’ small group shortly after Alpha. From there I was encouraged to serve in various ministries, including worship, leading a small group for couples for many years, and missions outreach including at St. Barnabas Society and Home. Since 2020, I have been a member of the Committee of Management as well a member of the Missions Committee.
Outside of Union, I was involved in starting an Alpha ministry at my children’s kindergarten, and then at their primary school when they were younger, and I also served as the board chair of International China Concern (HK) for 8 years until I stepped down last year. For the past 8 years, I have been and still am actively serving at Bible Study Fellowship.
With every opportunity that God has led me to serve Him, I never fail to be awed by how real, how present, and how unstoppable our God is. Having transitioned back to No. 22A, being a member of the Committee of Management has enabled me to see how amazing God’s provision has been, and to witness all of the wonderful work that He is doing using our church. He is our awesome God who will no doubt reveal even more of Himself and His kingdom to us when we submit to His calling to be His willing servants. I feel very blessed to be a witness of all this and cannot wait to see how God will lead Union into our next phase.
