I grew up in Singapore and moved to Hong Kong in 1993. Union Church was one of the first churches I was introduced to shortly after I arrived, and I went a few times but was not a committed follower of Christ then and soon got preoccupied with work and HK life and church took a back seat.
In the meantime, I got married and had two children who are teenagers now and after working in HK for nearly 18 years decided to quit in 2011 to spend time with the children.
At that time, I was also prompted to renew my relationship with Christ having made excuses in the past of being too busy or too tired and went back to Union Church in October 2011.
The Alpha course was being advertised, and I had remembered back in 1994 being asked to attend then. This time I decided to sign up and was glad I did as it got me to reconnect with my faith. I also started to attend the Friday ladies fellowship which I continue to be a part of.
I became a member of Union Church in May 2012 and have also become a Stephen Minister. I now serve on the Committee of Management of Union Church. I have also returned to part time work in a law firm, having trained and practiced as a solicitor and as an in-house lawyer.
