COMMITTEE OF MANAGEMENT: Member
I was born and raised in Hong Kong in a Catholic family steeped in strong Christian values of showing kindness and generosity, and helping the poor. My grandfather was my role model and he instilled a strong sense of responsibility of what being a Christian is since I was young. I went to a Catholic girls school, Maryknoll Convent School, followed by A levels and University in London. I returned to Hong Kong upon graduation from the LSE and started work in finance right away. I have been in investment banking in Hong Kong for almost 30 years until my retirement in November 2020.

My husband and I started going to Union Church in 2001. We started off by joining a Wednesday ladies group, followed by the Church choir, Alpha course, and Walk to Emmaus. Our individual faith journeys have always been supported and nurtured by the Union Church community. When we got married in 2007 and started our family with the adoption of our two children, now 13 and 8, our Union Church friends were there praying for us, supporting and guiding us. Most recently my 13 year old went through confirmation and is now an integral part of the Youth team.

Just writing about this made me realise that the Holy Spirit not only brought us to Union Church 20 years ago, but to help prepare our family to serve the church with the talents and skill sets we have nurtured and acquired along the way.  I believe in God's perfect plan and perfect timing, and while there was a heart and desire to be His hands and His feet many years ago, His work in me was not done yet. Indeed in the last three years at work, I was once again being reminded that my feelings are not as important as fulfilling God's purpose, honouring and glorifying His name. The words of an old Union Church pastor kept coming back to me when I was in my most destitute moments "It's not about you, it's about God".

I am now honoured to serve on the Committee of Management and on the Missions ministry team.
