Director of University Student and Youth Ministry (Full-Time)

We are looking for a full-time Director of University Student and Youth Ministry. This position will report to the Senior Pastor.

Position Overview
The Director of University Student and Youth Ministry will work alongside the current Youth Ministry Director to strengthen discipleship, evangelism, and outreach programs for middle and high school students, while also developing new initiatives for university student engagement. This role requires a passionate, relational, and spiritually mature leader who can nurture faith development, foster Christian community, and expand the church's ministry to youth across all age groups (middle school, high school, and university).

Key Responsibilities

Middle & High School Ministry (Support & Strengthen Existing Programs)

Support the current Youth Ministry Director in the following areas:

  • Create and implement strategic direction and engaging programs for middle and high school students
  • Plan and co-lead youth gatherings every Friday evening and Sunday morning
  • Build transformative relationships through mentorship and spiritual guidance

University Student Ministry

  • Create and implement a strategy to engage university students in Hong Kong
  • Create and lead outreach events, activities and programs tailored to university students
  • Foster connections between university students and the broader church community
  • Build transformative relationships through discipleship, mentorship and spiritual guidance
  • Integrate student ministry initiatives such as Bridges International and others

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Committed follower of Christ, aligned with the church’s mission and values
  • Prior involvement in youth and/or campus ministry (volunteer or professional)
  • Degree in Theology, Ministry, or related field preferred (not mandatory)
  • Strong teaching, mentoring, and relational abilities
  • Visionary yet practical in program development
  • Organized and proactive in managing events and volunteers
  • Strong communication skills - both verbal and written
  • Fluent in English

Director of Chinese Discipleship (Part-Time)

We are looking for a part-time Director of Chinese Discipleship. This position will report to the Senior Pastor.

Position Overview
The Director of Chinese Discipleship will champion evangelism and discipleship for Chinese-speaking students, working professionals, and caregivers. This strategic role focuses on leading Alpha outreach to seekers in these communities and developing transformational discipleship pathways. We seek a spiritually mature leader who can effectively share the Gospel and build vibrant small group communities.

Key Responsibilities

 Alpha Program Leadership

  • Partner with church leadership to oversee all aspects of the Chinese Alpha program including strategic planning, promotion, and execution
  • Support the existing on-site Chinese Alpha programs
  • Launch the workplace Chinese Alpha programs
  • Facilitate engaging sessions and discussions for seekers and new believers

Discipleship & Spiritual Growth

  • Design and implement a comprehensive discipleship pathway for Alpha graduates (e.g. small groups, classes, and 1-on-1 mentoring)
  • Collaborate with church leadership to develop and implement a Bible-based discipleship curriculum specifically designed for new believers' spiritual growth

Community Building

  • Support regular fellowship gatherings and special events to foster authentic relationships
  • Bridge and foster connections between new Chinese-speaking congregants and the broader Union Church international congregation

Resource Management

  • Recruit, train, and shepherd volunteers for the Alpha Program and other discipleship and community building events
  • Manage ministry budget and resources with financial stewardship

Qualifications & Requirements

  • This position requires 20 hours per week
  • Committed follower of Christ, aligned with the church’s mission and values
  • 3+ years of experience in evangelism and discipleship ministry
  • Theological training or Bible college education
  • Experience working in multicultural church settings
  • Fluent in both English and Mandarin

Director of Contemporary Worship (Full-Time or Part-Time)

We are looking for a full-time or part-time Director of Contemporary Worship who will report to the Senior Pastor. This role involves overseeing worship teams, planning services, and fostering a culture of worship that aligns with the church’s vision and theology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead Sunday’s contemporary worship services – reflecting of the seasons of the church calendar year and sermon themes
  • Model and lead meaningful worship – that draws people in, encourages participation, and points people to God
  • Recruit, train and disciple worship team members (vocalists, musicians and technical volunteers) – provide pastoral support and encouragement
  • Equip, organise, build up and train the worship leaders within the church to serve the congregation. Foster a team culture of humility and authentic worship
  • Conduct rehearsals to ensure musical and spiritual preparedness encompassing (a) preparation for the Sunday services and (b) cultivation of a Christ-centred community
  • Collaborate with pastoral staff to design cohesive, thematic worship services that creatively build on our traditions, enhance the sermon and engage the congregation
  • Serve as a member of the worship ministry team at Union Church
  • Work with the AV/Production team to ensure high-quality sound, lighting, visual elements and live stream.
  • Assist, participate, and collaborate with special productions and events including music selection and other creative elements.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Vibrant mature Christian Faith with a heart for worship and discipleship
  • A degree in music, church music, or a related field is preferred; however, applicants with comparable work experience will be considered
  • Sound theological training aligned with the church’s beliefs and values (preferred)
  • Strong musical proficiency (vocals, instrument – typically guitar or keys)
  • Experience building and leading church worship teams
  • Ability to arrange and adapt songs for various skill levels and congregational participation
  • Proficiency with worship software (Planning Center, ProPresenter, etc)
  • Servant-leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Cultural sensitivity and awareness of contemporary worship trends

Children Ministry Assistant

We are seeking to hire a full-time Children’s Ministry Assistant, who will be assisting our Children’s Ministry Director.

Job Description

The Assistant will work closely with the Children’s Ministry Director in implementing the vision of Children’s Ministry to “Raise Children for God’s Kingdom”. He or she will assist the Director in implementing the smooth running of Kingdom Kids program every Sunday and Children’s Ministry events throughout the year.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and execution of Creche, Sunday School & Tweens
  • Assist in Sunday School lessons and materials preparation.
  • Assist in the planning, preparation and execution of Children’s Ministry events throughout the year i.e. Kids’ Easter Fest, Mom’s Date, Father’s Day, Kids Summer program, Kingdom Kids Carnival, Christmas Musical Production, Sunday School Teacher’s Training, community outreach program, Christmas Eve & Day Family service, Vacation Bible School, and other Children’s Ministry program.
  • Assist with the administration aspects of Children’s Ministry, i.e., Sunday School attendance, Registration Forms database, events database, events promotion catalogues/flyers, etc.
  • Assist with design work, stage prop, events decorations, setting up and cleaning up related to Children’s Ministry and other church events as required.
  • Assist in procuring materials and supplies.
  • Requires to be at church every Sunday and to lead Kids Worship and teach Sunday School classes if needed (training will be provided).
  • Requires to work within the time frame set and more if needed.
  • May be required to work on Saturday and public holiday.

Working Hours

  • Tuesday - Friday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Sunday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

  • Minimum 1 year working with children
  • Familiar with Mac applications and Photoshop or InDesign programs (an advantage).
