In June, I traveled to Florida to train to become a Stephen Leader. It was a positive and encouraging experience. Since 1975, over 600,000 people from all walks of life have been trained as Stephen Ministers –that is, lay caregivers who, in turn, have brought God’s healing love to millions of hurting people going through difficult times in life. This ministry is currently in 13,000 churches, across denominations and around the world. Their focus - “Christ caring for people, through people.”
Beginning September, I will begin training (50 hours) some potential Stephens Ministers at Union Church. As a care receiver or a care giver, I am excited about this new ministry and look forward to equipping members in our congregation for this new pastoral care initiative. If you would like to know please see me.
But, we don’t want to wait until the fall to connect with you. If you have a need or if you are new to Union, we welcome you. Please let us know how we can help.
