How Do I Become a Christian

Many people believe they are Christians simply because they were born in a religious home, go to church regularly or just try to live a good life. The Bible teaches us, however, that we become a Christian by responding to God’s love.

This is what you can learn from the Bible.

God loves you because He chooses to. God looks at the heart rather than the outside appearance. He chose you out of love, nothing more, nothing less. He loves you so much that…

He gave Jesus, His one and only Son. While we do wrong things (that is, sin) daily, Jesus is sinless. Out of love and desire to be with us, he took the punishment for our sin and died on the cross in our place. Our response to this great gift is simple…

We trust Jesus to do what we can't. After three days, Jesus defeated death and rose from the grave! There is nothing we or anyone else can do to save us from our sin. We must trust and we must believe only in Jesus.

God gives us brand-new life. We have joy and peace because of his Spirit living within us. Little by little his Spirit changes us to be more like Jesus. He gives life, now … and for eternity.

Right now, wherever you are, you can tell God you accept him: “Father, I believe you love me. I believe you gave your one and only Son to die for my sins and that he rose from the grave so that I might have eternal life and live forever with you. Forgive me of my sin, and help me to follow you all the days of my life. Today, I choose love; I choose you.”

If you prayed this with your heart and accepted Christ in your life, we would love to celebrate with you and encourage you in your new relationship with Jesus! If you would like to speak with someone about this decision, please contact Pastor Michele
