Prayer Until Something Happens - this week's prayer items...

  • “For this reason, brothers and sisters, during all our distress and persecution we have been encouraged about you through your faith. For we now live, if you continue to stand firm in the Lord.” (1 Thessalonians 3:7-8) God of the lowly, you find us in our time of great need. Give us the strength to stand for your justice and proclaim your righteousness. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

  • “Act with justice and righteousness and deliver from the hand of the oppressor anyone who has been robbed. And do no wrong or violence to the alien, the orphan, and the widow.” (Jeremiah 22:3) Holy God, thank you for shining the light of righteousness into this darkened world. Forgive us when we seek our own gain to the detriment of others. Bring us again into the glorious light of Jesus, bearing fruits of mercy and love that can come from him alone. Open our hearts to those who are strangers to us. Amen.

  • Heavenly Father, we pray for all who govern and hold authority in the nations of the world, that there may be peace and justice on the earth. We also ask that you make us into a channel of your peace. Lord, your Kingdom come.

  • Lord we thank you that a group from this church has been given another opportunity to visit the elderly home in Kowloon Tong on Easter Day. We ask that you give wisdom and protection to the Union team and that your Spirit will guide them to the people you want them to minister to. We ask that your name will be glorified through all that is done in the name of Jesus there.

  • “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach and admonish one another in all wisdom.” (Colossians 3:16) God of wisdom, help us to centre our communities of faith around your Word. Give our leaders discernment on how to guide us all into greater awareness of your presence. Give us all the faith to follow your wise leading. Amen.
  • “Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters.” (Hebrews 13:1) Heavenly Father, we pray for our church family. Let us not follow the ways of the world that lead to disunity, but rather lead us to the way of Jesus. May we learn to love one another as ourselves, and care for the least of those among us. Lord, thank you because you first loved us.
