“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness!” Psalm 100:1-2

As I reflect on last Sunday’s One Worship service I am reminded of this passage. If you were there worshipping with us, you would know that there certainly were many joyful noises. Additionally, there were many who seemed to be serving the Lord with gladness! What a wonderful celebration where we celebrated Church is… ONE!

Thank you to the Filipina Fellowship for preparing food and helping set up; to Forrest, Chris and the combined Gospel Choir; to Patrick and Miriam Wong and the Saturday Small group for set up; to Rob, Betty, Barbara and their team of volunteers for sound and PowerPoint; to Hunter, Justin and the youth for guiding on the street and clean up; to Jacklien and her crew for Sunday School programs and to David, Jonathan, Tess and the BBQ team for feeding us and the many others who helped make the day meaningful. It was a “Happy Day!”

This Sunday, we continue with our theme Church is… and Monte will be speaking on “Church is…Reconciling.” Additionally, we would like to invite you to join us for a class on Jewish Prayer with Catriona Woodrow at 12:30, lunch will be provided. Our last Recharge before the summer break, Wednesday June 5th, will feature Josh Powell from Young Life. He will be speaking on “Parenting Teens.” Join us and bring a friend.

Anto, our Young Adults Director is also joyful:
Union Church family, it is with great excitement that Jess and I share the news of our move to England this summer. The Lord has opened an unexpected door for me in Godalming, a town in Surrey, southwest of London. I will be serving as Youth Minister at Busbridge & Hambledon Church (Church of England). This move will allow us to be closer to families and for Jess to continue her career in London. As we begin to reflect on this season spent in Hong Kong, Jess and I are full of gratitude for all those who have walked with us, spoken into our lives and allowed us to be part of theirs. Hong Kong is a special place full of some special people who will remain close to our hearts. Thank you Union Church for these 3 years of ministry.

On behalf of Union Church, we would like to say thank you to Anto and Jess. Your ministries have been a blessing to us in so many ways. We can rejoice that you are going where the Lord is leading, however, we are sad to see you go and you will be missed. A farewell will be held on Sunday June 16th and their last Sunday is July 21st.

Rejoicing and thankful,
Pastor Michele
