Last Sunday Monte Peterson preached at 8:45 and Hunter Purvis preached at 5:45. I was thrilled listening to these talented communicators.
Monte preached on “Blessed Are the Merciful” and based her definition of mercy on giving and forgiving. This Sunday I will preach on the same Beatitude. Tempted as I am to repeat her sermon, I won’t. But her message gave me an idea for a congregational question. Yes, I will take a poll but this time you have an advanced warning. Here is the question: “Are you better at giving or forgiving?”
We serve a God who gives and forgives. God blesses us and we have a chance to give and forgive. But if you were to make a forced choice, which one most characterises you? Ask a friend or a spouse to get a second opinion. And then let’s get together on Sunday and learn how to be better givers and forgivers.

Gratefully,
