”I learned my faith was situational,” a friend said to me this week. He is going through cancer treatment with a positive prognosis. But this challenge reminded him that his faith was dependent on his circumstances.
I confess it is easier to trust God when things are going well. Or when a move to a new church building goes better than planned. Or when you serve a remarkable congregation that is flexible, forgiving and fun.
But this week I thank a close friend who reminded me that God is present in the worst as well as the best of times.
