U Matters - 04 Jan 2018

Last week Apple lowered the price of iPhone battery replacement and admitted their programs slowed down older phones and drained the batteries at a rapid rate. As an older Apple phone user—actually an older user of a relatively newer iPhone—I sometime feel slow and drained. Even younger Android phone users get tired and lose the connection between their Christian faith and their workaday world.

Next Wednesday, 10 January, we start a 7:15 PM Wednesday night service. Even before the Apple controversy, we had decided to name it ReCharge. It will be a chance to worship and to dig deeper than we can on Sundays on topics that just might encourage you to live out your faith more boldly in 2018.

We start with a series: Wisdom for the Workplace—The Parables of Jesus in Luke. I will share the speaking with members of Union’s staff. To kick things off in January, two of my favourite preachers and Bible teachers, Dr. Paul Watermulder and Dr. Chip Hardwick will challenge us.

Please pray for us as we add ReCharge to a growing list of opportunities to worship and learn together.

Gratefully
Pastor Greg
