Prayer Until Something Happens - this week's prayer items...

  • “May you have a full reward from the Lord, under whose wings you have come for refuge!” (Ruth 2:12) Thank you, God, for calling all people to be citizens and saints in your kingdom. May we all especially pay attention to those who need protection and help. You have brought us this far under your wings and will bless us forevermore. Amen.

  • “From the rising of the sun to its settling my name is great among the nations, says the Lord.” (Malachi 1:11) Holy One, when we speak the name of Jesus, let us also convey his love and greatness by the way we live our lives.

  • “One who rules over people justly, ruling in the fear of God, is like the light of morning like the sun rising.” (2 Samuel 23:3-4) We pray for all who govern and hold authority in the nations of the world, that there may be peace and justice on the earth. Amen.

  • “God, you know my folly; the wrongs I have done are not hidden from you.” (Psalm 69:5) Heavenly Father, may your name be hallowed among us. How foolish we are to ever think we can hide anything from you. Help us to trust your words. Help us to remember that you have promised that your kingdom is coming. It is so. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

  • “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach and admonish one another in all wisdom.” (Colossians 3:16) God of wisdom, help us to centre our communities of faith around your Word. Give our leaders discernment on how to guide us all into greater awareness of your presence. Give us all the faith to follow your wise leading. Amen.

  • “Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters.” (Hebrews 13:1) Heavenly Father, we pray for our church family. Let us not follow the ways of the world that lead to disunity, but rather lead us to the way of Jesus. May we learn to love one another as ourselves, and care for the least of those among us. Lord, thank you because you first loved us.

  • Lord, we pray for One Worship on 26 May. We pray for a joyful time of coming together and fellowshipping with one another in the body of Christ. We ask for your blessing to all those involved in the organisation of it.
