Prayer Until Something Happens - this week's prayer items...
- Pray for individuals who are sick and especially those facing terminal situations. "When he went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick." Matthew 14:14
- Pray for victims, families, friends and loved ones of the latest school shooting in the Americas. Pray against motives or ideas to carry out future attacks of this kind. Pray for healing of those affected by this tragedy. Pray for similar tragedies that take place around the world but are never reported in the news.
- Pray for continued world peace in conflict zones. Pray for a softening of people's hearts. Pray for peace and safety at the Winter Olympics. "Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you." Ephesians 4:31-32
- Pray for families as they gather for the Chinese New Year Festival. Pray that this is a time of fellowship, joy and gratitude for one another.
- While we have reached Day 40 of the daily prayer challenge. Pray that people continue the challenge up until Union Church's AGM on 10 March: "Dear Lord, change me and use me. Change and use Union Church."
